Picture this: the sun setting over the crystal-clear waters of the U.S. Virgin Islands, casting a warm golden glow over the sandy beaches and lush palm trees. The sound of gentle waves lapping at the shore, the soft rustle of the breeze through the leaves above.

Earlier this summer, I has the amazing opportunity to second shoot this stunning wedding alongside Dani Purington. This day was a 3 day event full of discos, bingo, Moko Jumbies, steel drum band, beach wedding, gorgeous sunsets, and even night ending with a long, epic party.

As a documentary style wedding photographer, my goal is to capture these fleeting moments in a way that tells a story. From rehearsal dinner to the full wedding day, this island destination wedding did not disappoint. And is full of stories! Being able to second shoot a destination wedding in the U.S. Virgin Islands was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. From the bride getting ready in a quaint beachfront villa to the groom taking a quiet moment to collect his thoughts before the ceremony, every moment was filled with emotion and beauty. One of my favorite moments from the day was when the couple exchanged their vows in a secret, greenery cove. The best part of any destination wedding is the fact that everyone arrives with one goal in mind — which is to have fun! Full disclaimer: soooo many things ended up going wrong, but in the end, no one batted an eye at the messy situations. Throughout all 3 days, the bride and groom kept on saying how much they had fun and how perfect everything still was. Because that’s the thing with weddings. Things will go wrong (sorry that’s just the hard truth), but it is how you approach it. There is no need to worry about the things that could or did go wrong; just have fun!
