Fall Wedding in Lawrence, Kansas
Colleen and Johnny decided to have their unique wedding day outside of Kansas City and in Lawrence near their university – the University of Kansas. And let me tell you…Venue 1235 was PERFECT for them!
From a downpour to sunny skies
As a Kansas City wedding photographer, I love going out to Lawrence for a wedding. The drive to and from the city is super easy, and it escaped all the crazy city vibes.
What started out a rainy day quickly turned warm, sunny, and STUNNING! Colleen and Johnny really though of everything when it came to personalizing their wedding day. Their biggest thing was going to bars on the University of Kansas and hopping into any photobooth that they may see. And you know what? That is exactly what we did.
Adventures around Lawrence, Kansas
After all the details and first looks, we all headed into the heart of the University of Kansas. Strang Hall was our first stop, followed by a fountain that was close by, then ended our time before the ceremony at The Wheel. There the whole wedding party just chilled, Colleen + Johnny hopped into the nearest photobooth, and they all shared a few drinks.
The ceremony, reception, and dance party was back at Venue 1235. There is room for both an indoor or outdoor ceremony/reception, but we opted for indoor everything due to the thunder storm that was supposed to start back up right after the ceremony.
Both the ceremony and reception were stunning! So many personalized little touches throughout the whole day. Colleen and Johnny brought in a photobooth and ice cream cart for their guests to enjoy! We ended up sneaking into the thunderstorm for some fun bubble umbrella rain photos which turned out awesome!
