Chelsea and Alex’s wedding day was nothing short of timeless. From the elegant getting-ready moments at The Cascade Hotel to their heartfelt Catholic ceremony, a warm and lively reception at Jack Stack Barbecue in the Crossroads, and an unforgettable after-party at Skyline & Co.’s Noir in downtown Kansas City, their day perfectly blended tradition with celebration.
As a Kansas City wedding photographer, I had the honor of documenting each part of their love story across some of the city’s most iconic spots.
The day began at The Cascade Hotel in Kansas City, where Chelsea and her bridesmaids filled the suite with excitement and laughter. The natural light streaming through the windows created the perfect atmosphere for capturing those intimate “getting ready” moments—the details of her dress, the final touches of her makeup, and the joyful anticipation of walking down the aisle.
Meanwhile, Alex got ready surrounded by his groomsmen. The classic shots of cufflinks, ties, and final moments before heading to the church set the tone for a traditional yet personal day.
The ceremony took place at a beautiful Catholic church in Kansas City, where family and friends gathered to witness Chelsea and Alex exchange vows. The church’s architecture and stained-glass windows added a timeless backdrop to their sacred commitment.
Documenting Catholic weddings always feels so meaningful—capturing not just the couple’s vows but the symbolism and tradition woven throughout the Mass.
After the ceremony, we explored some of the best Kansas City wedding photo locations! From the Verona Columns, the cobble streets of Kansas City, to even the couple’s home with the pups, we had so much fun getting photos after their ceremony! Chelsea and Alex shared quiet, joy-filled moments as newlyweds while I captured the natural, documentary-style images that truly reflect their personalities.
The celebration continued at Jack Stack Barbecue in the Crossroads District—a favorite Kansas City venue known for its warm atmosphere and incredible food. Guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts, emotional first dances, and of course, an unbeatable barbecue dinner. The Crossroads is one of my favorite areas for receptions—it offers a mix of Kansas City charm, industrial vibes, and lively energy.
To end the night, Chelsea and Alex hosted an after-party at Skyline & Co.’s Noir KC, a chic cocktail lounge in downtown Kansas City. It was the perfect way to keep the celebration going—complete with craft drinks, dancing, and the perfect city nightlife vibe.
Chelsea and Alex’s wedding was the perfect blend of tradition, romance, and Kansas City charm. From the elegance of their Catholic ceremony to the lively energy of Jack Stack and Skyline & Co.’s Noir, their day reflected not only their love for each other but also their love for this city.
As a Kansas City wedding photographer, I love documenting days like this—where every detail and every location tells part of a couple’s story.
